The Woodlands Children’s Museum is seeking a creative, energetic, and detail-oriented Social Media Summer Intern to help capture the magic of our summer season. This position is ideal for a high school or college student interested in marketing, digital communications, and early childhood education.

Position Overview

  • Term: June – August 2026
  • Status: Part-time (Flexible hours; includes some weekend events)
  • Location: The Woodlands, TX

Key Responsibilities

  • Content Creation: Capture high-quality photos and videos of daily exhibits, workshops, and special summer events to showcase our “play-based learning” environment.
  • Platform Management: Draft and schedule engaging posts across Facebook, Instagram, and other digital channels.
  • Storytelling: Write compelling captions that highlight the educational value of our interactive programs, maintaining a professional yet whimsical tone.
  • Community Engagement: Monitor social media comments and engage with our community of parents and educators.
  • Trend Monitoring: Identify trending social media formats (Reels, TikTok trends) that can be adapted for a family-friendly museum audience.
  • Grow Media list: Explore other sites to send our Press Releases.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and digital trends.
  • Excellent written communication skills with an eye for grammar and tone.
  • Experience with basic photo/video editing apps (e.g., Canva, CapCut, photo shop).
  • A passion for working in a vibrant environment dedicated to children and families.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently on assigned projects.

 

This is an unpaid internship designed to provide hands-on experience in a professional nonprofit environment. The opportunity is ideal for students seeking course credit or practical experience in the field.
