Do you enjoy working with curious, young learners but cannot commit to full time hours? This is an ideal job opportunity for candidates who are college students, teachers looking to supplement their income over the summer, or someone who is looking for a position that provides a satisfying work-life balance.

The Woodlands Children’s Museum is currently looking for passionate and creative teachers to instruct our summer workshops. Ths. Contact jglass@woodlandschildrensmuseum.orgese positions come with the opportunity to teach additional classes during the fall and winter terms. We are currently looking for teachers who could teach a variety of workshops, including : Array of Clay, Scientifically Artrageous, Lights, Camera, Action & Shakespeare, and Trash to Towers. 

Job requirements:

Responsibilities of teachers:
-daily planning, management, and supervision of the classroom and students
-ensuring that a safe classroom environment is maintained (clean, well-organized)
-assisting and supervising children during all activities
-counselling children when social, academic, or adjustment problems arise
-implementing classroom lesson plans according to workshop theme
-preparing materials for classroom activities
-assisting children with snack times and clean up
-ensuring all materials are in good working condition and are used and maintained properly.
-physically arranging the classroom into well-defined interest areas.
-directing the activities assistant(s) in the classroom to ensure that the classroom functions in an orderly manner.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

– Teaching certification preferred (but not required)
– First Aid certification preferred (but not required)
– Classroom Management
– Organizational Skills
– Ability to appropriately implement.
– Strong communication skills between staff, parents, and children

Job Types: Temporary, Part-time
Salary: $420.00 per week

Schedule:
4 hour shift
Day shift
