On Tuesday, March 11th get ready to sing along with Children’s Musician Juicebox Jukebox at 10:30am, 11:30am, 12:30pm, and 1:30pm. Juicebox Jukebox enriches children’s lives through fun, positive, and educational music that focuses on core subjects and character-building themes with a fresh perspective.
Safety Day Tuesday, March 11th, 10am-12:30pm. The Woodlands Township Neighborhood Watch invites you to learn about public safety and other ways to keep your family safe at this hands-on safety fair and car seat check. Come explore a police vehicle, firetruck, and ambulance and talk with the people who keep us safe. On Thursday, March 13th enjoy Texas Commission on the Arts celebrated children’s singer/songwriter Joe McDermott, who will be performing engaging 30-minute shows scheduled for 10:30am, 11:30am, 12:30pm, 1:30pm.
Lauded as a “Texas treasure” by the State Library Association, McDermott has been captivating young audiences for over three decades, ever since the release of his debut children’s album in 1988. His background as a Montessori teacher provides him with a unique insight into the minds of children, which he masterfully leverages in his performances.
McDermott’s songwriting prowess has earned him widespread recognition, including numerous Parent’s Choice Awards and nominations, as well as accolades from NAPPA and the International Song Writing Contest. In a testament to his exceptional talent, he won first place in the Children’s Music category of the prestigious John Lennon Song Writing Contest in 1998. Furthermore, he collaborated with Stan and Jan Berenstain, setting ten of their beloved books to music. Stan Berenstain himself praised McDermott as an “absolute wizard at communicating to children with music,” highlighting his remarkable ability to connect with young audiences.
On Friday, March 14th children are invited to laugh and giggle during Le Theatre de Marionette Silly Strings Variety Shows at 11:00am and 1:00pm. Le Theatre de Marionette’s repertoire of storybook classics has delighted audiences with their family-friendly, kid-tested and teacher-approved marionette puppets shows for years.
On Saturday, March 15th we are celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with the rich culture of traditional Irish dancing performances by the McTeggart Irish Dancers at 10:30am and 11:30am.
