Children’s Day/Book Day special readings

On April 24 at 11am we will be celebrating Children’s Day/Book Day (Celebremos El día de los niños/El día de los libros), with two special books. First, enjoy  “Book Fiesta!: Celebrate Children’s Day/Book Day (Celebremos El día de los niños/El día de los libros)”, by Pat Mora. Miss Jan and Miss Maria will be reading this joyful book together in English and Spanish to celebrate Children’s Day/Book Day (El día de los niῆos/El día de los libros). The story encourages children to explore the world of books wherever they are!  This special day (which falls on April 30) highlights the importance of literacy for children of all linguistic and cultural backgrounds. Then enjoy “Goodnight, Moon/Bonsoir Lune’ by Margaret Wise Brown. Acompáñanos a celebrar el Día de los Niños y de los Libros!

El 24 de abril a las 11:00 a. m., celebraremos el “Día de los niños/El día de los libros” con la lectura de dos cuentos muy especiales:

• “Book Fiesta!: Celebrate Children’s Day/Book Day / ¡Fiesta de los libros!: Celebremos El día de los niños/El día de los libros” de Pat Mora. Las maestras Jan y Maria leerán juntas esta alegre historia en inglés y español. El libro anima a los niños a explorar el mundo de la lectura sin importar dónde se encuentren. Esta celebración (que oficialmente es el 30 de abril) resalta la importancia de la alfabetización en niños de todos los orígenes lingüísticos y culturales.

• “Goodnight, Moon / Bonsoir Lune” de Margaret Wise Brown. Disfrutaremos de este clásico en inglés y francés, mientras un pequeño conejito le dice “buenas noches” (goodnight/bonsoir) a todo lo que hay en su habitación.
