Author visit with Carmen Ortega and Landon Medina Saturday, May 8th 11:30am. Carmen and Landon will be reading their book, “Operation Twins—The Roaring Giant” on stage followed by a meet-and-greet where they will be selling and signing their book until 1:00pm.
Carmen, Educational Coordinator at the museum, and her 8-year-old son Landon, a student at Conroe Adventist Academy, were inspired to share their love of reading and books by creating their own Christian children’s book after attending an author event at the museum. The book that was presented that day featured illustrations created by children. Landon was curious as to how the children’s pictures got into the book, and that sparked the idea of following their dream of writing their own book together! The resulting story is about twins who travel back in time to a Bible story, where they work together to solve a problem and then return home.
They intend for this book to be the first of a series. Carmen and Landon hope that they are able to inspire children and adults to also follow their dreams just like they did!
