The Woodlands Children’s Museum seeks an energetic, highly- organized Workshop Coordinator to oversee and implement in development, coordination, and facilitation of our seasonal holiday workshops which include summer break, winter break and spring break educational programs for our small but growing children’s Museum. This is a FULL TIME position during these seasonal hours. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in producing high- quality educational and hands-on programs, experience in teaching formally or informally, and a love for the process of discovery for young children ages 2-10. Previous work in a museum setting and a strong background in art are a plus. This position reports directly to the Executive Director.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist Executive Director and Education Coordinator in establishing seasonal brochures
  • Plans, Executes and Oversees implementation of seasonal holiday workshops which include Winter Break Workshops, Spring Break Workshops and Summer Workshops, as well as, Saturday Studio Art Workshops. All of these workshops are attended by children from 5-8 year olds. THIS POSITION REQUIRES FULL TIME HOURS DURING THESE SEASONAL TIMES.
  • Workshop preparation includes, but is not limited to, overseeing organization of curriculum, organization of curriculum materials, hiring and managing staff of up to 20 educators and interns, and overseeing day to day operations of seasonal workshops from point A to Z
  • Ensures educational mission and quality is implemented in every aspect of the workshops
  • Oversees administrative aspects of programs including registration, scheduling, collecting survey data and cultivating strong relationships with children and families
  • Communicate with all staff to ensure that they are informed of programming and workshop schedules
  • Responsible for organizing storage unit

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

  • College degree in Education, Child Development or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with curriculum or lesson plan development and facilitation of programs for young audiences
  • Ability to prioritize and work in a timely, efficient, and organized manner
  • Effective and respectful participation in team settings
  • Attentive to communication, budgeting, and adhering to deadlines
  • Has a strong work ethic and maintains positive attitude when stressful situations arise
  • Embodies a passion for working with children and families within our community

Job Type: Part-Time/ Full-time – Full-time during high seasons
