Chinese New Year Celebration
Saturday February 10th 10am-2pm

The Chinese New Year is a time to celebrate a new beginning while sharing rich, centuries-old traditions with family.

Area children will have an opportunity to experience some of those traditions for themselves when The Woodlands Children’s Museum hosts its annual Chinese New Year celebration on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018. Activities will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 4775 W. Panther Creek Drive, Suite 280.

“Our Chinese New Year party goes to the heart of one of our key missions: Enriching children’s lives by introducing them to other cultures,” said Angela Colton, executive director of the museum. “And the traditions associated with Chinese New Year are wonderful, from the dances to the stories to the emphasis on family.”

The upcoming new year will be the Year of the Dog on the Chinese zodiac calendar. During the museum’s celebration, the Houston Lion Kings dance troupe will be performing. Additional activities include a Coin Tree project, printmaking and games.
