Two and Three day programs
REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN for the 2026-2027 school year.
To book a tour, request information, and register, contact our Education Coordinator Jamie Glass at jglass@woodlandschildrensmuseum.org
Wonderseum’s goal is for a child to develop a love of learning and confidence in their own curiosity that will carry them through their entire education career.
Wonderseum is a Reggio Emilia-inspired private Pre-K environment that offers an inquiry-based learning program for children ages 4-5. We believe that children learn through discovery, presented with meaningful interactions, curiosity, and exposure to new opportunities.
The Reggio Emilia philosophy comes to life through hands-on, project-based learning and all participants—children, parents, and teachers—are seen as learners, with equal opportunities to shape and influence the learning process. New experiences are designed to help children develop across the ten learning domains of social-emotional development, language and communication, reading, writing, math, science, social studies, physical development (gross and fine motor), fine arts, and engineering/problem solving. Curriculum is a balance of Pre-K skills as well as following the child’s own interests through open-ended project-based experiences exploring science through nature or natural materials or provocation with light and various art processes like clay, printmaking, and so much more.

Class is limited to ONE ADULT per registered child.
Excellent workshop for grandparents searching for ways to spend time with their grandchildren while fostering a deep understanding between generations.
Twos and threes explore art as a learning experience and are more interested in “doing” art than making finished products. During the “process”, twos and threes discover their own independence, as well as delighting in the joy of exploring and creating art. Using a variety of mediums to create mini masterpieces and stimulate artistic imaginations, toddler and grownup share the “process” of art as a stimulus to engage discovery and becoming familiar with various art mediums, such as painting, collage, fiber art and building with clay while squishing, mixing, tearing and swirling. Leave the “messy” with us, but painting clothes are recommended.
Wear clothing that can get messy! You will meet with your teacher at the atrium on the first day of a class. (By the picnic table in front of the museum) You will receive an email the day before class.

RobotiKs and Beyond for 7-10 year-olds meets THURSDAYS
Young engineers are introduced to LEGO® Education SPIKE™ PRIME by combining colorful LEGO® building elements, easy-to-use hardware, and an intuitive drag-and-drop coding language based on Scratch. This curriculum engages students through playful learning activities to think critically and solve complex problems, regardless of their learning level. From easy-entry projects to limitless creative design possibilities, including the option to explore text-based coding with Python, SPIKE™ PRIME helps students discover the essential STEAM and 21st century skills needed to become the innovative minds of tomorrow… while having fun!
Young engineers advance to the LEGO® Mindstorms® Education platform using EV3 which showcases the basic fundamentals of building and mechanical principles by engaging and motivating them to design, build and program their robots, using motors, sensors, gears, wheels, axles and various technical components. While gaining a better understanding of how technology can work in real-world applications, the EV3 curriculum develops creativity, critical thinking, collaboration and communication.
Coding is achieved by dragging and dropping icons into a line to form commands, allowing students to create, build and then mechanically manipulate their “rover” with space-themed missions and solutions.

Imagine a week where children are seen as curious explorers, their creativity is nurtured and their unique perspectives are celebrated. The essence of Reggio Emilia is a philosophy that revolutionizes how we perceive and facilitate early education. This week-long workshop introduces tactile experiences through printmaking, clay exploration and collage. These themes and methods are connected with age-appropriate literature along with a small child to teacher ratio. Children will have the added benefit of enjoying time exploring play in the museum during the week before the museum is open for general admission.

During the workshop, students will brainstorm, merge ideas, and collectively determine the overall theme of their city. The construction will take place on two large tables designed to represent a natural landscape, complete with concrete, grassy areas, and a water source. Separate supply stations will provide various binding materials (such as aluminum wires, tapes, glue, ribbons, brads, and staples) and inspirational objects (including scrapbook paper, cups, boxes, and other found items).
A dedicated teacher will be present for supervision, problem-solving, and execution assistance as the students explore core concepts of stability, functionality, and design, while discovering facts about famous structures throughout the week.
