Early Childhood Exploration

2 & 3 Year-Olds
Discovering new ways of playing and learning together, Early Childhood Explorations provides a magical classroom-type atmosphere between grown-up and toddler that introduces toddlers to basic social skills while receiving preparation and enrichment for pre-school. Toddler and grown-up delight in theme-based participation activities such as art, movement or motor development skills, all serving as tools to stimulate brain and language development, listening and social skills, as well as strengthening fine motor coordination and spatial awareness. Playful class size is limited, so please sign up early.

Little Picassos
meets WEDNESDAYS Ages 2-3 year-olds
Toddlers explore art as a learning experience and are more interested in “doing” art than making finished products. Toddlers discover their own independence, as well as delight in the joy of exploring and creating. Using a variety of mediums to create mini masterpieces and stimulate artistic imaginations, toddler and grownup share the “process” of art as a stimulus to engage discovery and become familiar with various art mediums, such as painting, collage, fiber art and building with clay while squishing, mixing, tearing and swirling. Leave the “messy” with us, but painting
lothes are recommended.

Happy Feet

My Little Wonderseum

3 & 4 Year-Olds

What makes My Little Wonderseum so unique?
PLAY FIRST

In an expanded Mother’s Day Out environment that fosters creativity, promotes self-expression and supports the development of young minds, our early learning environment is designed with empowering a child’s wonder of curiosity, exploration and play in a safe and nurturing environment.

My Little Wonderseum is intended as a magical introduction to lifelong learning in a tactile environment of discovery, where children experience interactive storytelling through dramatic play, meet performers and guest artists sharing enriching experiences, hands-on science discoveries and art and its many processes. Children experience the joy of music through singing, dancing and moving expressively to a variety of music genres, discovering different cultures through their music, and exploring rhythm and rhyme – all of which promote the development of essential skills including listening, vocabulary building, social-emotional, and motor. Guided explorations encouraging a discovery of culture through the arts, expanding language and early literacy, science and math, drumming with Let Them Drum, are all determined and planned to create global awareness, reading readiness and comprehension, number recognition and association, while refining children’s fine motor skills. My Little Wonderseum environment provides open-ended discussion and a “playful” approach to learning and discovery, while empowering children with an easier transition to kindergarten.

Please send a packed lunch with your child since the children will be eating lunch from 11:30am-Noon to introduce them to the new schedule they will experience upon entering Kindergarten for the 4 year-old session. The 3 year-old session gently introduces children to independent mealtime skills during this time.

*Students must be potty trained and be 3 or 4 years old by the start of the semester. My Little Wonderseum is not designed for drop-in attendance. Early registration is advised and encouraged.

E.A.R.L.Y. Robotics Meets EV3

(Engineering and Robotics Learned Young)
meets THURSDAYS Ages 7-10 year-olds.

Combining the well-known E.A.R.L.Y. Robotics program, created by NASA, that introduces 7 to 10 year-old boys and girls to engineering, with the new and expanded LEGO® MINDSTORMS® Education EV3 cross-curricular STEM curriculum, is certain to provide a hands-on solution that develops a strong understanding of the basic fundamentals of building and mechanical principles while engaging students by providing the resources to design, build and program their creations. The combination of E.A.R.L.Y. and EV3 can help develop creativity, critical thinking, collaboration and communication.

Students build robots and realistic motorized models from LEGO® kits in a team-building atmosphere. Teams select pilots to operate the robot motors using basic on/off switches and manipulate through given obstacles and challenges to help complete missions. The
EV3 system is a compact and powerful programmable computer that makes it possible to control motors and collect sensor feedback using the intuitive icon-based programming and data logging software. Programming is done by dragging and dropping icons into a line to form commands allowing students to build simple programs, and then easily and intuitively build on their skills until they are developing complex algorithms.

We have had another wonderful summer doing several camps at the Woodlands Children's Museum. Your staff is very caring and well-versed in what they teach. I have been so thankful to have a high-quality, educational option for Clara this summer. Clara gets up everyday excited to go to camp and comes home with great things to share. Please tell your staff they are all appreciated. 🙂

This place was a huge hit with my toddler! There is a space for children under two to play, a play-house, pretend-store, sensory bins, a water table where you can fish, and more! They encouraged mask wearing and had hand sanitizer stations, which was a nice touch. Staff is helpful, polite,, and constantly working to clean and organize stations. I highly recommend giving this place a visit!
