Children can experience the fun and wonder of scientific discovery during a week of interactive experiments at The Woodlands Children’s Museum.
Science Palooza will take place Saturday, March 9, through Saturday, March 16 from 10:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Several of the experiments incorporate materials and curriculum provided by the NISE: the National Information STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Education Network.
“Our experiments this week are designed to inspire a sense of awe in children, to show them the many ways science touches our lives and to pique their interest in STEM studies,” Executive Director Angela Colton said.
This year’s Science Palooza line-up of interactive experiments includes:
Saturday, March 9: Dissolving Ink/Disappearing Ink
Sunday, March 10: Dancing Raisins/States of Matter
Monday, March 11: Magic Spoon/NISE Moon Crater
Tuesday, March 12: Friction Using Ramps/Slime
Wednesday, March 13: Oil and Water/Rainbow Reflected
Thursday, March 14: Water Absorption/Surface Tension
Friday, March 15: Air Pressure Game/NISE Paper Mountain
Saturday, March 16: Magnet Hunt/Light Refraction
Science Palooza is included in the museum’s regular $7 admission for visitors age 1 and older. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
