Want to help your children stay healthy?
The Woodlands Children’s Museum is hosting a weeklong program called “Get Fit February” – and inviting families to stop by for daily workouts. Daily workouts will be scheduled for Monday, Feb. 20 through Saturday, Feb. 25. Recommended for ages 7 years and under. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. The event is included in the price of admission, which is $6 for adults and children 1 year and older

The week concludes with a grand celebration, Fitness Frenzy, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25. The program includes learning about blood flow with a 13-foot MEGA Heart, Villa Sports explaining the importance of physical activity, and Republic Ambulance demonstrating the parts of their ambulance. Children are invited to bring their teddy bears for “Care for your Bear.” There will be a score of great guests and, in addition to Couch 2 Kitchen and Junior Leagues’ Kids in the Kitchen, there will be face painting and a food truck. The event is being sponsored by America’s ER.

“We believe it’s extremely important to educate and empower children and their families when it comes to health and fitness,” Angela Colton, the museum’s executive director, said. “This week of work-outs and informative presentations will give families fun and easy ideas on how to stay healthy all year ’round.”
