legos-workshop2016Fall into Fun, Educational Workshops at The Woodlands Children’s Museum
Enroll now for creative experiences this fall. Enrollment is underway for fall workshops at The Woodlands Children’s Museum. There are a variety of offerings that explore a range of subjects – from art and dance to science and culture – all for children ages 2 to 10. For toddlers ages 2 and 3, the museum offers Early Childhood Explorations. Children must attend with an adult. These magical classes introduce children to basic social skills and prepare them for pre-school. Parents also may sign their toddlers up for Happy Feet workshops on Thursdays, which offer exposure to dance and movement, or Little Picassos on Wednesdays, which explores beginning artistic processes.

KindeReady workshops, designed for children ages 4 and 5, provide captivating learning games and activities that build reading skills, number recognition, fine motor skills and creative self-expression, with each week featuring a new theme built around a favorite storybook.

Creative Workshops, planned for 4- to 10-year-olds, are perfect for homeschoolers or after-school fun.

ARTrageous Workshops, for children ages 5 to 10, will explore a number of themes and media – from collage and printmaking to watercolors and clay.

For young Picassos and van Goghs, the museum has formed the ARTrageous Club. Children ages 6 to 10 meet on Tuesdays to create art, learning to use a variety of artistic media, as well as facts about different artists.

For young Einsteins and Edisons, the museum offers Got Science? The workshops are held on Tuesdays for children ages 4 to 10.

Children ages 4 to 10 might be interested in one of the Robotiks Workshops. Try E.A.R.L.Y. Robotics for 7 to 10 year olds or Lego Frenzy Meets Righteous Robotiks for 4 to 6 year olds. The Lego Club, for 6- to 10-year-olds, meets on Wednesdays.

Other museum offerings are the 12 for 2 Second Saturday Workshops. These two-hour workshops are only $12 and provide fast-paced, fun-packed Saturday morning experiences. Designed for children ages 4 to 8, the sessions are scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon on the second Saturday of each month. Courses will cover a range of topics, including pottery, All Hallow’s Eve and found-object art.

The Perfect Turkey Time Out is the perfect way to get into the Thanksgiving spirit – with a number of art projects planned for Monday, Nov. 21, and Tuesday, Nov. 22, for ages 4 through 8.

“The lineup of workshops this fall promises to keep children entertained while discovering new experiences with science, art and culture,” Angela Colton, executive director of The Woodlands Children’s Museum, said. “Sign your children up today, so they don’t miss out on these great enrichment opportunities.”

Located at 4775 W. Panther Creek Drive, Suite 280, in The Woodlands, 77381, the museum offers educational exhibits, a full calendar of exciting activities and a cool space for creative play.
