Carmen\, Educational Coordinator at the museum\, and her 8-year-old son Landon\, a student at Conroe Adventist Academy\, were inspired to share their love of reading and books by creating their own Christian children’s book after attending an author event at the museum. The book that was presented that day featured illustrations created by children. Landon was curious as to how the children’s pictures got into the book\, and that sparked the idea of following their dream of writing their own book together! The resulting story is about twins who travel back in time to a Bible story\, where they work together to solve a problem and then return home.They intend for this book to be the first of a series. The festival traces its origins to a mythological legend that the Cowherd Star (Altair) and Weaver Star (Vega)\, lovers separated by the Milky Way\, are allowed to meet just once a year – on the seventh day of the seventh month.\nChildren and adults write their wishes on narrow strips of colored paper and hang them\, along with other paper ornaments\, on bamboo branches placed in the backyards or entrances of their homes and then hope their wishes come true.

Carmen\, Educational Coordinator at the museum\, and her 8-year-old son Landon\, a student at Conroe Adventist Academy\, were inspired to share their love of reading and books by creating their own Christian children’s book after attending an author event at the museum. The book that was presented that day featured illustrations created by children. Landon was curious as to how the children’s pictures got into the book\, and that sparked the idea of following their dream of writing their own book together! The resulting story is about twins who travel back in time to a Bible story\, where they work together to solve a problem and then return home.They intend for this book to be the first of a series.
