SUMMARY:Storybook Theatre
DESCRIPTION:Storybook Theatre presents\, They Called Him Harvey\,  by  local 4th-Grader\, Landon Hayek\, and his mom\, Jenn. \nTogether they wrote and illustrated They Called Him Harvey\, a book about Landon’s experiences and emotions surrounding Hurricane Harvey. \n\n\nThey will be our special guest author visit on Friday\, January 5 (the last day of the school holiday break)\, from 11:00 to 12:30.    Landon will read the book at 11:00 followed by a meet-and-greet until 12:30\, when he and his mom will sell and sign copies of the book.  Please note:  A portion of book sales will be donated to families affected by Hurricane Harvey in their community.  The signed books are $10. Cash or check made payable to ‘Hayek’. \n\nLandon’s Bio\nLandon Hayek is a 9 year old (he will be 10 Dec 15th) 4th grader\, at Creekview Elementary.  He was born in California and moved with his family to The Woodlands soon after he turned 4.  Landon loves school and his favorite subjects are reading\, math\, & science.  Landon is very passionate about soccer and has a dream of becoming a meteorologist when he is older.  In 2016 Landon’s home flooded in the Memorial Day Floods\, and they had to rebuild much of their first floor.  He and his family were finally getting back to normal when Harvey hit.  This time\, the water rose about 6 times higher in their home.  The Hayek’s are still in the rebuilding process and are hoping to be back in their home by the New Year.  After Harvey\, Landon and his mom\, Jenn\, started drawing pictures and writing down their thoughts on the experience.  This was very therapeutic for them.  They decided to turn these pictures and words into a children’s book that would help others that were affected by Harvey.  A portion of the sales from They Called Him Harvey will go to others affected in their community.  You can find their book on Amazon and it is also available as an ebook in the Kindle store.\n\n\n\nIntroduce your child to the wonder of reading and instill a love of books at an early age. Storybook Theatre combines your favorite childhood books with songs\, rhymes and finger plays which are meant to promote early literacy and enhance language development.  No reservation needed.  Free with price of admission.
