Birthday FAQs

Birthday FAQs

Is the museum open to the public during my party time?
Yes the museum will be open to the public during parties. The party room is a private area that you are reserving for the two-hour party time slot.

Does the museum provide decorations for the party?
The museum does not provide decorations or food for the party. You are welcome to decorate the room how you’d like with colorful table decorations. You can only tape to the walls using painter’s tape. Balloons are ok. Keep in mind that you only have a short time to decorate and clean up so keep it simple. The kids want to play in the museum, not spend lots of time in the party room. NO pinatas!

Does the museum provide food for the party?
You can bring food but not any heating devices like sternos or crockpots. People often bring in pizza, sub sandwiches and chicken nugget trays. There is a refrigerator and freezer in the room for your use. NO alcohol is allowed!

Can I have food delivered to the museum?
Yes! Just let the party manager know to expect your delivery and they’ll let you know when it arrives.

How do the party activities work?
You can choose to add an activity to your basic party package during booking. On party day, two of our staff members will come into the party room to lead the activity with the party guests. This takes about 15 minutes. We recommend having the children also eat and have cake while they are in the room for the activity.

What does the party assistant do?
You can choose to add an assistant to your party package during booking. On party day, the assistant can help you bring things in, decorate, serve food, clean up ,etc. Just let them know what you’d like help with. Tips are welcome.

What is the timing for the party?
We recommend waiting at least 30 minutes after your party start time to call guests to the room for an activity or food. Just let the party manager know what time, and they can make an announcement. Please plan to be done eating and having cake or opening gifts 15 minutes before your party end time so you have plenty of time to clean up. There is another party after yours or the museum will be closing for the last party slot so please be respectful of the other guests waiting to set up or the staff finishing up for the day. There is an additional fee if you are not out of the party room at your scheduled time.

How many people can I have at my party?
The basic party package includes 13 children and 20 adults. Additional children up to 20 can be accommodated and will be an additional charge on party day. Additional adults up to 30 are also welcome with an additional charge of $7. The fire marshall maximum in the room is 50 so you cannot exceed that total number of guests. If you anticipate hosting more guests than that you should book both of our party rooms at the same time. If you’d like to stay longer at the museum or have a longer time to set up and clean up, you can reserve two consecutive party slots.

What will party guests do when they arrive?
The museum party manager will greet all guests at the front door where they will sign in the children and number of adults. Our party manager uses this sign-in to keep track of the total number of guests at the party. The party manager will direct your guests to the party room to drop off their gift and say hello then guests will start playing in the museum.

How long do I have to decorate and set up?
You have 15 minutes before the party start time to set up and decorate. We advise you to keep decorations simple to help you get set up and clean up in a timely manner. There are 30 minutes between parties during which the staff needs 15 minutes to clean the room and party parents get 15 minutes to set up. Please be respectful of other party parents by vacating the room in a timely manner at the end of the party. The 3-5pm party slot needs to be out of the room and the museum by 5pm when the museum closes so that staff can get cleaned up for the day.

Can my guests only be at the museum during our two-hour party slot?
Your guests are welcome to stay for a little while after your party ends or arrive a few minutes earlier than the party start time. We ask that you let us know if your guests will be arriving before your party start time so the party manager can be prepared to greet those guests.

Can I bring my own entertainment?
You can book a princess or other characters or entertainers to visit your party. They will need to arrive through the back door or go through the office to avoid disruption in the museum. The character or entertainer must stay in the party room. You can also bring your own activity to do in the room if you’d like.

Do parents stay with their children?
Parents will need to stay with their children during the party. Parents cannot drop off and leave unless they’ve already arranged for another parent to supervise their child.

Stephanie Duran

This place was a huge hit with my toddler! There is a space for children under two to play, a play-house, pretend-store, sensory bins, a water table where you can fish, and more! They encouraged mask wearing and had hand sanitizer stations, which was a nice touch. Staff is helpful, polite,, and constantly working to clean and organize stations. I highly recommend giving this place a visit!
